About Us
*The Acre named after the one acre of land it is on
*Old Endeavour Energy building and old council depot.
*Craig & Tara Elias and Sam Criniti bought the main brick building and sheds in 2015 to renovate (turn ugly into beautiful)
*When building commercially we like to keep our architecture in the tradition of the Southern highlands - old, solid and beautiful.
*This building would have had to of been one of the ugliest buildings in the area but the bones were solid so that we could turn it into one of the nicest buildings in the entire area.
Dirty Janes was already a thriving business so with the patience of stall holders, The Elias’ and Sam were able to develop the entire site for a better future for everyone.
*Sat down with John Webb to design a beautiful traditional Bowral building. Arched windows.
A collaboration of many designs carefully chosen over the years by scouring Pinterest and French architecture sites. Spending many days flying to major cities to measure and photograph old Australian architecture. Could be caught out in many a public toilet searching for quaint ideas and structural originality. Haha
*The design for the curved front door had been stored and kept on file for many years. We knew that one day we would be able to use this on one of our commercial developments, we just had to wait for the right building. Which was The Acre.
Made by good friends Evalock Windows and Doors. This was a real challenge but an enjoyable one for the whole team. Working closely with Tara, Craig and Sammy, the end product was outstanding.
The colour was carefully chosen as it had to stand out but be soft and welcoming.
The lady (remember her name Craig) in the paint shop had the formula handwritten in her paint formula book as it was a discontinued colour. When I explained what I wanted she went straight to it. This is it! It is definitely the perfect blue. Local people taking the time to be involved and want the best for the area and to be involved with the process.
Chris and Maureen kept their patience and continued to create a wonderful ambience to the Potting Shed’s gardened courtyard. Which “grows” from strength to strength each day.
* An area which is lovely to wander and sit
*
The tenants that are there had faith in our dream and signed leases “off the plan”
They were very excited to begin their new journey for their businesses, in a beautiful new building that promised not only a lovely atmosphere, but like minded people to create a new end of town.
